“Love the Arts” An Education Fundraiser

The Lomazov/Rackers Piano Duo have performed as recitalists and in concert with orchestras throughout the United States and Europe. The duo has premiered numerous works which have been written speci cally for them. Their broad repertoire ranges from important works by Bach, Brahms, Mozart and Schubert to wide-ranging performances of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring and Petrushka. Ms Lomazov and Mr. Rackers each hold the Doctor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music and both serve on the piano faculty of the University of South Carolina School of Music where they co-direct the Southeastern Piano Festival.

This special event will feature entertainment by talented local musicians in a romantic setting with champagne and dessert. This will be an evening to enjoy wonderful love songs while satisfying your sweet tooth.

The Lomazov/Rackers Piano Duo

We celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season with Colla Voce.  A

Columbia based chamber ensemble of professional musicians founded by

Dr. Larry Wyatt in the spring of 2001.  Colla Voce has become known for

the virtuosity of its singers and the sophistication of its repertoire.  Join us

as they perform seasonal works for Christmas.

Colla Voce is directed by Dr. Larry Wyatt, director of Choral Studies at the

University of South Carolina. In addition to directing the concert choir, he

supervises the masters and doctoral programs in choral conducting and

the Graduate Vocal Ensemble.

This year’s Gala will magically transport us to the Caribbean by way of the

“Pantasia Steel Band”.   A trio of steel drummers led by Kimberly Roberts,

will amaze you with their exuberance and incredible sound.  Be ready to

experience Caribbean flair.

The evening will begin with a silent auction at 6:30 pm to raise funds for

Arts Education in our local schools.  Afterwards there will be a reception

which will feature food with a Caribbean twist, accompanied by wine and

beer.  Grab your friends and come celebrate music, art and great food while

supporting the Arts.

Bay Street Brassworks

Founded in 1995, Bay Street Brassworks,  are raising the bar to a superior

level by performing brass quintet music ranging from “Bach to Rock” with the

addition of non-traditional brass quintet instruments. Bay Street Brasswork’s

ambition is to change “sound” through instrumentation so the audience will

have a unique and different experience, while preserving the quality, complexityand excitement of all music.  During this concert, Bay Street Brassworks will perform music ranging from Classical to Jazz and Funk to Rock.
